Long Term Care Lecture Library

Approach
Whether the audience is corporate or facility based, my unique and lively lectures are tailored for each group of employees. My material is very provocative, because I tackle topics seldom published in trade journals or discussed at seminars. Long-term care employees want real solutions to their day to day problems, not intangible advice or hype. I offer outcome-based, common sense solutions employees can relate to and apply themselves.

Custom Lectures
I customize every in-service / seminar to reflect your unique operational needs. This means building a lesson plan that employees can relate to. I can design a multi-faceted in-service or seminar from subjects in my lecture library, or another subject within my realm of expertise. Finally, a way to bring care-giving back into focus! My lecture material is only designed for presentation and is not for sale.

Corporate Compliance
Participating in Medicare and Medicare programs may expose nursing homes to charges of fraud and abuse. An effective corporate compliance program can help protect a company by reducing criminal sanctions and monetary fines if a company is investigated and found in violation of federal law. Demonstrating caregiving "intent" is a critical component of corporate compliance. Supplementing employee education with subjects from my lecture library helps to validate corporate intentions. My subject matter is drawn from management principles that embrace resident caregiving.

Owners & Governing Boards
Managing the day to day operation of a nursing home requires a tremendous depth of knowledge and experience. It’s nearly impossible for Administrators to master every aspect of their complex profession. The "key" to success is possessing enough technical information about each subordinate’s position to ask direct technical questions. Understanding the mechanics of a nursing home operation and keeping abreast of industry changes is critically important for owners and trustees, as well I believe that everyone benefits when owners and trustees can effectively dialogue with executive staff. I offer customized programs that deliver this information.

Library Overview
My lecture library is organized into three major employee groups: management, nursing, and caregiving. The "management" series is designed for facility management, corporate staff, owners, and governing boards. The "nursing series" is primarily designed for nursing directors and nurses, but may include nursing clerical staff, registered dieticians, professional dietary managers, social workers, recreational directors, and therapists. The "caregiving" series is primarily designed for nurse’s aides, but may include housekeepers, maintenance assistants, dietary assistants, laundry assistants, activity assistants, volunteers, and individuals who come in contact with residents. Many subjects have overlapping appeal between employee groups. Since each lecture is customized, there are no prepackaged boundaries to limit the benefit and creativity of presentations.
